I gazed out of my balcony at the setting sun on the horizon. I tried to imagine the world beyond Agrabah. If only there was a way to find out...
Then, it came to me. That was it! A world tour! A chance to find out what was beyond those city gates and the country. But to leave my father & friends? My friends would probably understand, but what about Father?
I went to the Throne Room, where I knew everyone was at. I mentally thought about how I would tell them about how I wanted to explore the world...on my own.
"Good evening, Jas. What's up?' greeted Genie when I entered the room.
"Hi Genie. Could I talk to all of you?" I asked before I lost the nerve to say what I wanted to say.
"Of course my daughter. Go ahead," Father granted.
I took a deep breath. "I've been thinking about seeing the world. Taking a world tour, actually."
"Yes, seeing the world is important," Father answered.
"We'll go with you," Aladdin suggested.
"No, I want to see the world by myself," I insisted.
"What!" cried Father and Aladdin at the same time.
"Please?" I pleaded.
"Hmm...if you are careful, you may take this...world tour," Father allowed.
"Oh, thank you Father!" I gushed.
The next morning, I started packing for my trip. I packed night clothes, flashlight, batteries, brush, books, and a few other items. I put on my cloak and hood and headed for the palace gates.
I met Aladdin, Abu, Iago, Carpet, and Genie at the gates. I hugged Aladdin for a long time.
"I hope to see you soon," Aladdin whispered.
"I put a radar in your earrings. If you're not back soon, we'll track you," Genie added.
"Thanks guys. I promise I'll come back," I vowed. I waved one more time and left the city. The year was 1994, springtime.
Three seasons passed. In that time, I had traveled to Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, South America, Central America, Mexico, and finally the United States. Now I was on the U.S.'s east coast. I had crossed the entire continental United States. I was in Manhattan, New York.
It was late winter when I arrived in Manhattan. Looking up at the 23rd precinct, I decided to take shelter in it's top tower. I quietly made my way inside. I thought of the entrance the way it was in the "Gargoyles" series.
I found the broom closet, went inside, and saw a metal bar. I pulled it down and a flight of stairs appeared.
I ventured upstairs and when I reached the top, I couldn't believe my eyes. The gargoyles existed. There was the armchair and television, the stove, and much more.
Just then, I heard a voice call out, "Freeze!"
I turned around and there stood Elisa Maza! Elisa looked at me and gasped in surprise.
"Are you Princess Jasmine?' she asked, putting her gun away.
"Yes, I am," I said. "How did you know me?"
"I've seen the movie," Elisa replied. "Do you know me?"
"Elisa Maza, NYPD," I answered, smiling. "I saw a show with you and the gargoyles," I gestured outside.
"You know about the gargoyles?"
"Of course I know."
"Well, it's almost sunset. I could take you to them," Elisa offered.
"I would love to meet them," I accepted.
Elisa and I went outside and watched the sun set. After night had fallen, the cracking of stone filled the air. That sound was soon replaced by roaring and flying bits of stone skin.
I was standing behind Elisa to surprise her friends when the time came.
"Hello Elisa. It is wonderful to see you," Goliath greeted. He hadn't noticed me. But he would see me eventually.
"Hello Goliath. Everyone, I have someone for you to meet," Elisa said. She stepped aside, "Meet Princess Jasmine."
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Princess," Goliath said.
"The pleasure is mine, Goliath. And you can call me Jasmine," I answered back.
I met and talked to the rest of the clan and followed them inside. They asked what I was doing in New York. I said that I was on a world tour and that I was nearly done with it.
As I prepared to start out, four hours later, Brooklyn slipped a communicator so I could talk to them when I wanted or needed to. I accepted the device and left my new friends.
I walked through alleys to avoid any possible staring. Suddenly, someone knocked me off my feet. Looking up, I saw...Demona.
Her eyes glowed a haunting red as she grabbed my by the cloak. Her eyes stopped glowing when she got a good look at me.
"Princess Jasmine? What?" she started.
I pulled myself from her. I heard her say, "Just one more human to destroy," Then, from the shadows, someone attacked Demona.
"Run Jasmine," a voice called. It was Goliath! I ran through the alleys, never once looking back. I don't know how far I ran, but the area soon grew quiet and uninhabited.
I paused to catch my breath, certain that I had gotten away.
As I struggled to get my bearings, I looked around the area. And then, right in front of me, was a large and beautiful mansion.
